MNRE Endorsed a Scheme to Erect 50MW Solar Plants for People Eye By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Wed, Feb 3rd, 2016 Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Govt. of India has licensed a scheme to establish 50MW solar power capacity plants in the public areas. A released report of MNRE states that, ‘The tasks will be set up in high visibility areas, such as major cities, where land cost is high, but people can visit for the purposes of demonstration.’ The authority targets in two central locations, i.e. Adarsh Gram Yojana which comes under the rural development program, as well as demonstration tasks in Technology Park and public locales for example markets and museums. It will be qualified for the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) Scheme as a part of the phase II of the National Solar Mission (NSM). The VGF scheme is to provide the supports in projects infrastructure. It also helps the projects to avail commercially feasible and affordable for the Nation’s Distribution Companies (Discoms). The 50MW Plant will implement by Solar Energy Corp. of India (SECI), it will be ranging between 1-5MW in size. The schemes are likely to establish in the next two years. The utilization tariffs for the schemes will range from INR 4.43 per KWh (USD 0.065c) to INR 5.43 per KWh for 25 years.
