ZunRoof Expands Footprint to 3 More Cities; Mulls to Reach 100 Cities by FY20

In its second phase of expansion, Gurgaon-based rooftop solar solutions provider ZunRoof has expanded its footprints to three more cities i.e. Chennai, Hyderabad and Kochi.

The move has come as the Pranesh Chaudhary and Sushant Sachan backed home-tech startup aims to offer its residential solar rooftop solutions to independent homeowners and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in these cities.

Now, the company’s pan-India presence reached over 50 cities and is planning to expand its footprints to more than 100 cities across twelve states by the end of current financial year i.e. FY2020.

Commenting on the launch, ZunRoof, Founder and CEO, Pranesh Chaudhary said “we had sensed a strong customer demand in southern states of India from the thousands of queries received on our website and social media during last year.”

Chaudhary further added that “the solar panel market in the southern states is dominated by the unorganized sector and initial market survey revealed instances of improper installations, customers being cheated by local players and the absence of substantial after sales service. The company said in a statement that, among the existing cities in which it is currently operating, Bangalore is among the best performing markets for Zunroof, where it has already done over 250 installations.

Moreover, this rooftop solar solutions provider company already has presence in all major north-Indian cities, including Delhi-NCR region, Lucknow, Kanpur, Chandigarh, Agra, Jaipur, Haridwar, Ludhiana and Jalandhar, among others.

Earlier in April 2019, this smart energy solutions provider secured a Pre-Series A funding of USD 1.2 million from Pirojsha Godrej. Such kind of funding support for home grown startups can prove to be a game changer in order to meet the country’s 40 GW rooftop solar target along with the boost for Make in India initiative.
