Znshine Supplies 100MW Modules to Etihad Energy for DEWA Projects By Manu Tayal/ Updated On Fri, May 31st, 2019 Under this 100 MW pact, Znshine will supply a mix of single glass and double glass modules as it felt that double glass modules will be more suitable for high-rise buildings. China-based tier-1 PV module maker Znshine PV tech has inked a supply pact with Etihad Energy services for 100 MW of solar modules for DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) projects. The move came as a result of the Chinese module maker’s participation in the tender launched by DEWA in the month of January. Under this 100 MW pact, Znshine will supply a mix of single glass and double glass modules as it felt that double glass modules will be more suitable for high-rise buildings. Speaking on the development, Znshine, CEO, William Wang said, “We are proud to have won this tender and thankful for the trust the whole team has put in us, in particular Mr Ali Mohammed Al Jassim, CEO of Etihad Energy Services, who honored us with his visit to our factory in China.” As per Ali Mohammed Al Jassim, these modules will be used in various projects as part of Shams Dubai solar program. This is DEWA’s leading initiative to connect solar energy on buildings. Further, these modules will be used on the rooftop of villas, which are part of a project by DEWA and Etihad ESCO, in the Emirate. Commenting on the Znshine’s vision on the Middle East, Sacotel Znshine Middle East, CEO, Joumana Hosri said, “Znshine has been focusing on the Middle East since 2018 and wants to play a major role in accompanying the region’s ambitious roadmap to sustainability; the 100Mw supply agreement is a major achievement for us in the Middle East and we hope that this is the first of many more to come.” Joumana Hosri further added that, “Zhshine’s competitive advantage is the graphene coating that gives Znshine modules a self-clean feature.” Meanwhile, the company said that the delivery of the first batch has started on schedule.
