Senvion Wind Technology Pvt. Ltd. (Senvion India), a manufacturer of wind turbines, has bagged an order by Independent Power Producer O2 Power Pvt. Ltd for its 2.7 MW M130 turbines. The order stands at a total of 121.5 MW.

The scope of the project entails supply, installation, and commissioning, with a total of 45 machines set to harness energy at a height of 130 metres. In addition, it entails multi-year Fleet-Pro™ O&M contract- Senvion’s comprehensive maintenance package for its deployed turbines. Fleet-Pro offers digital interface with turbines, on-line prognosis and diagnosis, and support to enable wind farms meet their full potential.

Deliveries will start in the fourth quarter of 2023. A major share of the projects will be commissioned by the first quarter of 2024. The remaining share will be delivered in the second quarter of 2024.

Senvion India maintains that its M130 turbines promise high efficiency and dependable performance. The turbines are equipped with advanced monitoring and control systems, allowing for real-time data analysis and maintenance. This enhances the overall performance and reliability of the windfarm.

Senvion maintains that its competitive product, which boasts a high level of indigenization, technical strength, and quality, played a crucial role in securing the contract for the 2.7 MW M130 turbines.

Respective Portfolios

Fully acquired by Alfanar Group, Senvion India has been around in the country since 2016 and has development and installation of wind energy projects pan India. The firm has fully operational factories and an R&D centre in India to meet indigenous demand. It has localised its turbines up to 85%. It has installed 120 and 130 metre rotor turbines in its countrywide projects.

Other major players in the Indian wind sector are Suzlon, which boasts 140 m hub height. Its 3 MW turbines have struck a chord in the market. Other key players are Adani Green Energy, Inox Wind.

O2 Power Private Limited has set sights on over 4 GW of renewable energy assets through utility-scale and C&I projects with a cumulative equity commitment of up to US$ 500 million. In over a period of three years, the firm has developed a pipeline of over 2.5 GW of renewable energy assets.
