Whitbread completes installation of 88 solar arrays at Premier Inn sites across UK By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Mon, Mar 21st, 2016 Whitbread has completed installation of 88 solar arrays at Premier Inn sites across the UK, it is expected to deliver £280,000 in energy cost savings a year. The company in a statement said that solar arrays are now installed at 12% of Premier Inn sites and each array can deliver around 10% of the hotel’s power needs. According to Businessgreen 88 solar arrays will provide 1,326,000kWh of power per annum which will cut 6,132 tons of CO2 emissions each year. Whitbread reveals that solar arrays are expected to result in £280,000 in energy cost savings each year. James Pitcher, corporate social responsibility director at the company said “Whitbread’s investment in Solar PV forms part of our wider strategy to reduce carbon emissions across the business,” he added. “It will support us in meeting our 2020 target of reducing carbon by 15 per cent, relative to sales turnover and we’ll continue to develop our energy management strategy in line with the growth of our business.“ Tags: cut carbon emissions, Renewable Energy, Solar, solar arrays, Solar Energy, solar panel
