WattPower Supplies 15 GW Solar String Inverters In 17 Months WattPower

The Chennai-based solar inverter manufacturer, WattPower has produced and supplied nearly 15 gigawatts (GW) of solar string inverters in 17 months. The production was led by WattPower’s manufacturing facility in Chennai, established in 2022. With an annual production capacity of 9.9 GW, the facility produces solar string inverters including the 330KTL model. The plant’s semi-automated assembly line and stringent quality checks ensure each product meets the highest performance and durability standards.

The company’s other products, including its high-efficiency string inverters and smart array controllers, have been instrumental in achieving this milestone. Designed for longevity, WattPower’s inverters feature minimal moving parts, ensuring a lifespan of up to 25 years. The company’s patented technology also enhances efficiency and safety by eliminating DC-side failures, which account for 74% of safety hazards in photovoltaic (PV) plants.

Commenting on the milestone, Divya Prakash Choraria, Co-founder and CEO of WattPower, said, “As the nation moves toward a greener future, WattPower remains dedicated to delivering solutions that empower industries, communities, and the environment.” WattPower caters to utility-scale, commercial, and industrial solar energy sectors, with plans to expand into power storage. Backed by its German holding company, WattPower has cemented its position as India’s leading renewable energy provider.

About WattPower:

Founded in India in 2022, WattPower specializes in Smart PV solutions. WattPower has had a long, extended relationship with Huawei FusionSolar, the inverter division of Huawei that has been the global leader for most of the past decade. Huawei’s existing base of installed inverters is also serviced and maintained by Wattpower, after the former’s exit from India.

The company produces Solar inverters and hybrid energy solutions . In 2023, Renewable solutions firm Wattpower started a string inverter factory in Tamil Nadu. The company claimed that the plant in the southern Indian state would produce solar inverters to aid the growth of the renewable energy sector in the country. The company then planned to produce solar inverters with 10 GW capacity. The company has come a long way since then.
