Waaree Energies Set To Add 3.2 GW Solar Manufacturing in Gujarat

Waaree Energies recently announced a slew of decisions including its decision to establish an additional 1.6 GW module manufacturing line at its unit situated in Brookshire, Texas in the USA. While sharing this update before a regulatory filing Waaree Energies elaborated that it also plans to set up an additional 3.2 GW module manufacturing line at its plant in Chikhli, Dist: Navsari in Gujarat.  

Waaree Energies also said, “It will be inaugurating its 5.4 GW Solar Cell Manufacturing Plant at Chikhli, Navsari, Gujarat on 29th March 2025.”

Waaree Expansion Plans In the US

Waaree Solar Americas Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Waaree Energies Ltd has announced the commencement of commercial production of solar modules at its advanced manufacturing facility in Brookshire, Texas. The unit boasts a capacity of 1.6 GW.

The latest announcement by Waaree Energies complements its announcement made earlier this year in January. Waaree Solar Americas Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Waaree Energies Ltd has then announced the commencement of commercial production of solar modules at its advanced manufacturing facility in Brookshire, Texas. The unit boasts a capacity of 1.6 GW.

With the facility now fully operational, Waaree Solar Americas is set to produce solar photovoltaic (PV) modules to meet the growing demand for renewable energy solutions across the region. The launch of commercial production marks a critical step in localizing solar manufacturing in the United States, contributing to job creation and economic growth while reducing reliance on imported solar products, the firm said.

The start of expanded manufacturing in Gujarat will keep Waaree’s position as the leader in India protected for the near future, with total domestic capacity at close to 18 GW. Changes in the pecking order if any can be expected only post 2026, as expansion plans of other players like Reliance and Adani take final shape.
