Waaree Energies Bags 364 MWp & 160 MWp Module Supply Orders

Indian solar module manufacturer Waaree Energies today announced securing orders for module supply totaling 364 MWp and 160 MWp. The firm received these orders from renewable project developers from India. These customers are engaged in the business of owning, developing and operating renewable power projects in India, the firm said.

The contracts include the supply of Waaree’s N-Type TOPCon bifacial modules. These modules boast power ratings of 585/590/595 Wp. The supply is scheduled to commence in FY 2024-25 and FY 2025-26.

Backward integration boost 

The Mumbai-based company is now also working to boost its backward integration. Waaree Energies, one of the winners of India’s Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) is eligible for the government’s financial support for this too. The company is set to start solar cell manufacturing from Gujarat this month. It is also likely to start its integrated solar module, cell, ingot and wafer plant in the Dhenkanal district of Odisha.

The company has also planned to start a solar module manufacturing plant in Houston in the United States (US). The top management of the firm is not optimistic about opening the offshore venture likely by February of next year.
