Vortex Energy, a renewable energy company based in Poland has started the construction of several of its projects including 53MW of onshore wind power and 57MW of PV solar power projects. These renewable energy projects in Poland are set to be finished atmost by 2025.

Once completed the solar and wind projects will provide around 180 GWh of energy annually fulfilling the needs of 93,000 homes and reducing 1,26,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year, said a media statement by Vortex Energy adding that it is a significant step in achieving climate neutrality.

Nomad Electric, which is responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) delivery on the 57 MW PV solar portfolio, and Nordex, which will supply turbines for the onshore wind projects will be responsible to manage these projects.

Vortex Energy is a renewable energy company in Poland that has delivered over 450 MW of operational renewable generation capacity in wind and solar, and has a development pipeline of over 3 GW of wind and solar and 2 GW of battery energy storage.

Maciej Peplinski, CEO of Vortex Energy said, “The strategic change of business model opens a new chapter in the history of the Vortex Energy Group, enabling the construction of wind and PV farms with the intention of growing Vortex as one of the leading independent power producers in Poland“.

In other news, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, Madar, along with Taaleri Energia, a Finland-based renewable energy developer, have acquired eight hybrid renewable energy projects in Poland with a combined capacity of 1 GW from Polish renewable energy company Domrel.
Once in operation, these projects are expected to power 2,23,000 households and offset 1.8 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.

Another Polish energy firm Energa bought a 334 MW domestic solar and wind power project from developer Lewandpol Holding in October 2023. It comprised a solar farm of up to 315 MW and a 19 MW wind farm in the central Polish province of Wielkopolskie.
