Greater Visakhapatnam Smart City Corporation Ltd. has issued a tender for the installation of a 15 MW floating solar power plant in Visakhapatnam district. The project will be developed on Meghadri Gedda reservoir in Visakhapatnam district on a turnkey basis along with grid connecting equipment including open access related works and associated electrical & civil works under implementation of Smart City Mission. The scope of work includes design, engineering, procurement & supply, site development, construction, installation and comprehensive operations and maintenance for ten years. The last date for submission of the bid is January 9, 2019. The techno-commercial bid will open on the same date. The price bid will be opened on January 11, 2019. The technical eligibility criteria of the tender states that a bidder should have designed, supplied, installed and commissioned at least 8 MW of grid connected solar PV projects in the last five financial years, out of which at least one project should have been of 2 MW capacity or above. The financial eligibility states that the average annual turnover of the bidder should not be less than Rs 25 crore in the last three financial years. The smart city project which was launched has culminated into a lot of solar projects being launched by smart cities under the scheme.
