Vikram Solar Commissions 350 Kw Rooftop Solar Proj for Ordnance Factories’ Unit By Manu Tayal/ Updated On Wed, Mar 28th, 2018 The Kolkata-based Gun and Shell Factory is a unit of the Ordnance Factories Board that manufactures special equipment for the Indian Army. Solar modules maker & EPC solutions provider Vikram Solar has commissioned a 350 Kilowatt rooftop solar power project for the Gun and Shell Factory (GSF) in Cossipore, Kolkata. The Kolkata-based Gun and Shell Factory is a unit of the Ordnance Factories Board that manufactures special equipment for the Indian Army. The solar plant is spread across 4,180 square meters of roof top area that has 1,130 modules powering 5 buildings. The solar installation is expected to save 430 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions, the company said in a statement. Vikram Solar has a 60 Megawatt rooftop Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) portfolio comprising government clients. The company’s annual Photo-Voltaic module production capacity stands at 1 Gegawatt. It has international presence in 5 continents.
