Vestas Secures 86 MW & 39 MW Orders in USA & Estonia By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Thu, Jun 30th, 2022 Highlights : Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) has given Vestas an 86 MW order to repower the Solano Wind Project Phase 4 wind farm in California, USA. Vestas has received a 39 MW order from Utilitas, for the Saarde wind project in Estonia. Wind turbine manufacturer, Vestas has secured two wind project in USA & Estonia with the respective capacity of 86 MW & 39 MW. For the 86 MW Project Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) has given Vestas an 86 MW order to repower the Solano Wind Project Phase 4 wind farm in California, USA. The site’s present heritage V47-660 kW wind turbines will be replaced by 19 V150-4.5 MW wind turbines, which are included in the order. With this purchase, the overall installed capacity of the Solano Wind Project will be close to 300 MW. The entire Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) contract is part of the order. Vestas will provide the entire turn-key solution which includes the supply, installation, and commissioning of the turbines. Vestas also extended its multi-year service agreements for the Solano 2 and Solano 3 project phases at the same site to further solidify its relationship with SMUD and guarantee the efficient operation of the entire Solano Wind Project. For the 39 MW Project Vestas has received a 39 MW order from Utilitas, for the Saarde wind project in Estonia. Nine V150-4.2 MW turbines in 4.3 MW operating mode will be supplied, installed, and put into service as part of the deal. Vestas will also provide the maintenance service to the turbines which is a part of a 30-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service contract. The project is situated in the municipality of Saade in the southwestern Estonian county of Parnu.
