Vellore Smart City Issues Tender For Rooftop Solar Systems at its Buildings

The last date of bid submission is March 4, 2019.

The Vellore Smart City Limited has issued tender inviting bids from eligible MNRE/TED approved organizations for setting up of grid-connected rooftop solar systems at various buildings of the Vellore City Municipal Corporations.

The brief scope of work for selected bidders will include the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the rooftop solar systems along with five years of comprehensive operation and maintenance from the date of commissioning.

The winning bidder will also be responsible for facilitating net metering from TANGEDCO (Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Company) and capital incentives approval from the Ministry of New Renewable Energy (MNRE).

The last date of bid submission is March 4, 2019, and a pre-bid meeting will be held on February 18, 2019. Date of opening of qualification covers has also been scheduled for March 4, 2019, and shortlisted bids will be announced in a week. All bids must be accompanied by an Earnest Money Deposit of Rs 3,51,000 to be eligible.

The successful bidders will be afforded a time scale of 6 months (expandable by 3 months) to complete the projects.

To be eligible for qualification, a bidder shall over the past 3 financial years preceding the bid due date, have been empanelled with Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA)/Ministry of New Renewable Energy (MNRE) for establishment of solar power plants and, paid or received payment for establishment of grid-connected solar power plants not less than 1000kW in total.

Additionally, the Bidder shall have a minimum net worth of Rs 2 crore at the close of any of the last three financial years preceding the bid due date and have a sum turnover of minimum Rs 5 crore at the close of the last three financial years preceding the bid due date.

Recently, the Tirupur Smart City Limited (TSCL) issued a tender inviting bids for setting up a 4.8 MW solar PV power plant at the Iduvai Village in Tirupur City Municipal Corporation, Tamil Nadu. The last date for bid submissions is February 25, 2019, and the bids will be opened on the same date.
