UPNEDA Issues Tender For Solar Energy-Based Drinking Water Kiosks By Tej Prakash Bhardwaj/ Updated On Tue, Aug 6th, 2024 UPNEDA Amends Tender For Solar-Based Water Kiosks The Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has issued a tender for the installation of 20 solar-powered kiosks. This tender covers the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of solar-based drinking water kiosks across various solar cities in Uttar Pradesh. The contract includes comprehensive warranty maintenance for a period of 5 years. The estimated cost for these kiosks is approximately Rs. 3.99 crores. The release of this tender is contingent upon the availability of funds. The selected operator will be responsible for managing each kiosk system for a duration of 5 years. Eligibility Criteria for Bidders: The tender document specifies that bidders must be firms registered or incorporated under the Companies Act of 1956 or 2013. Additionally, bidders should have experience in supplying and installing solar-based water kiosks for at least 30% of the bid quantity. As per the UPNEDA tender document, bidders are required to submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) in the form of a Bank Guarantee (BG) or Demand Draft (DD) amounting to 2% of the estimated cost. However, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) based in Uttar Pradesh are exempt from this requirement. Uttar Pradesh has been actively promoting renewable energy initiatives. Earlier this month, UPNEDA announced a tender allocating Rs. 2 crores for raising awareness about the PM Surya Ghar scheme in cities such as Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, and Varanasi.
