UPNEDA Issues Tender For 320 MW Of Solar Project At Jalaun

UPNEDA Issues Tender For 320 MW Of Solar Project At Jalaun UPNEDA has planned to offer land on lease for the utility-scale project.

The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Agency (UPNEDA) has issued a new tender inviting developers to establish 320 MW of solar power projects in Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh. The project will be developed under a Build, Own, and Operate (BOO) model, according to UPNEDA.

The state nodal agency will also provide the required land on a lease basis. “The allotment of land to the successful bidder for setting up the solar plant will be based on the price quoted for land lease per acre per year. The successful bidder will enter into a land lease agreement with UPNEDA after the land is allocated as per the evaluation criteria. The draft land lease agreement can be downloaded from UPNEDA’s official website after the land is allotted. The total land available for this tender is 1,292.46 acres, and the proposed project capacity is 320 MW,” the tender documents stated.

According to the tender, bidders must have successfully completed or substantially completed similar projects in the past seven years, up to the last day of the month preceding the bid invitation. Regarding financial eligibility, the bidder’s net worth as of the financial year ending March 31, 2024, should not be less than ₹0.95 crore. Additionally, the bidder’s annual turnover must be at least ₹2 crore per MW in any of the past seven years.

Land in three tehsils 

The documents also reveal that UPNEDA has identified various land parcels in three tehsils of Jalaun district: Kalpi, Madhogarh, and Orai. The land will be available on a lease for 30 years.

The deadline for bid submissions is October 4. The state of Uttar Pradesh currently has been trying to boost solar parks and utility-scale projects in the available land parcels. In the recent cases, it has specially focused on the Bundelkhand region to harness solar power and boost the growth of solar energy projects in the state.
