UP Plans 500 MW Of New Rooftop Solar Projects Under RESCO, Issues Tender By Manish Kumar/ Updated On Tue, Apr 22nd, 2025 UP Plans 500 MW Of New Rooftop Solar Projects Under RESCO, Issues Tender The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has issued a tender for 500 MW of solar projects to be implemented under the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model. The state nodal agency plans to install grid-connected rooftop solar systems on government and semi-government buildings across various regions of the state. The projects will operate under a net metering framework, and bidders will be selected through a tariff-based competitive bidding process. Project sizes will range from 1 kWp to 2000 kWp. The last date to submit bids is May 16. Wide range of projects “UPNEDA invites Online Bids from Prospective Bidders through e-tendering for Design, Engineering, supply, erection, testing and commissioning including warranty, operation & maintenance for 25 years for above 1 kWp to 2000 kWp Grid Connected Roof Top Solar PV System for Government/Semi-Government Buildings & Industries/Institutions under the ambit of UPSIDA at different locations in Uttar Pradesh under RESCO Model on Net-metering/Net-billing basis,” the tender read. Developers will be responsible for operations and maintenance (O&M) of the systems for the full 25-year project lifecycle. UPNEDA has mandated a performance bank guarantee of Rs 10 lakh per MW of signed capacity. ALMM Compliant All solar modules used in the projects must be enlisted under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM). “The Modules and Cells should be manufactured in India and should be complied with the prevailing Approved List of Models and Manufacturers of Solar Photovoltaic Modules (Requirement for Compulsory Registration) Order 2019 – Implementation issued vide OM NO. 283/54/2018-GRID SOLAR -Part (I) Dated 10th March 2021 and subsequent amendments and clarifications if any, shall be applicable for this RfS. The modules used in the Project under this RfS should have been included in the List-I under the above Order, valid as on the date of invoicing of such modules,” the UPNEDA tender said. It added, “Rest of the components can be procured from any source. However, these items should meet the technical specification and standards mentioned in RfS.
