Universal Transfomers Wins WBPDCL’s 5 MW Floating Solar Tender By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Mon, Jul 17th, 2023 Highlights : The contract has been as part of an aggregate capacity of 22.5 MW floating solar power plants tender issued by WBPDCL issued in March, 2023. WBPDCL's 22.5 5 MW Floating Solar Tender West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBPDCL) has awarded Universal Transformers a 5 MW floating solar project for its design, engineering, procurement, supply, erection, testing and commissioning on RW pond at Sagardighi Thermal Power Project. The contract has been as part of an aggregate capacity of 22.5 MW floating solar power plants tender issued by WBPDCL issued in March, 2023. The total order value for the contract stands at over INR 297,296,319. The other bidders for the project included Amara Raja Infra Private Limited and Lumino Industries Limited. As per the contract, Universal Transformers will submit Contract Performance Guarantee within 15 days of LOA from WBPDCL. Universal Tramsformers will have to ensure net minimum guaranteed generation as per the contract for the first year after final commissioning and at a reduced rate of 0.7% per year for subsequent years. Initially, the above Guarantee shall be required for the five years, in the O&M period. Recently, WBPDCL issued an Expression of Interest seeking consultants for conducting the technical and feasibility studies for its proposed 500 MW floating solar power project on the catchment areas of Bakreswar Dam. The state utility also revealed recently that it is set to add 660 MW of thermal power by next year.
