Tumakuru Smart City Floats Tender For 20 MW Floating Solar Project

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) of GoI has initiated the Smart City Mission (SCM) and selected Karnataka’s Tumakuru city to be developed as a Smart City. As part of the Smart City Initiative, Tumakuru Smart City Limited (TSCL) has floated a tender for the development of a 20 MWp Grid Connected Floating Solar PV Power Project.

The tender issued for the 20 MWp floating solar project includes its design, finance, procure, supply, installation, testing, commission, operation, and maintenance for 25 years on 80 to 100 acres of Bugudanahalli Lake Reservoir in Tumakuru District of Karnataka.

Interested bidders are required to submit, along with its Bid, an earnest money deposit (EMD) of Rs 98 lakhs by April 5, 2021.

To find themselves eligible, the bidders must have previously designed, supplied, and commissioned at least 10 MW of rooftop, ground-mounted, floating, or canal solar power projects in the last five years with single or multiple systems of a minimum size of 100 kW. Along with, the proposed project including anchoring and mooring should be from a Company/Organization which has supplied for Floating Solar Power Plant of cumulative installed capacity of 1 MWp or above in the last five years

Additionally, they must have had a net worth of at least Rs. 10 crores as of the previous financial year’s last date and the bidder should demonstrate liquid assets and /or availability of credit facilities of no less than Rs 3 Crores.

Hence, all the financial bids received for the projects would be opened and the tariff offered by the Bidder under the Bid would be determined, and then only, the bidder offering the lowest tariff will be selected.

Furthermore, the bidders are expected to take care of the grid connecting equipment and evacuation lines to the nearest substation and provide all necessary electrical and civil work under the implementation of the Smart City Mission in Tumakuru.
