Electrical division of Haryana has issued three separate tenders for the installation of solar PV systems at various locations in the state. The solar PV systems, the tender document mentions, will have to be installed in Tauru, Punhana, narnaul, Ateli and Kanwali in Rewari District; Faridabd, Tigaon and Hodel in Faridabad District; Haily Mandi, Sector 9 and Sector 14, Gurugram District. Haryana has been pushing big on solar energy with a tremendous push by the state government in pursuance of the central government’s renewable energy targets. Residents of Haryana are also getting a state subsidy of Rs 15,000 for installing Solar Home System under the ‘Manohar Jyoti Yojana’. Prior to this Minister of State for Public Health Engineering, Banwari Lal had stated that solar power plants would be installed on the rooftops of all senior secondary schools in Haryana. Haryana government is also contemplating to provide solar-based tubewells to farmers of the state.
