Tata Power’s CGPL Wins ‘Gold’ at FAME ‘Excellence in Safety’ Awards By Anirudh Sharma/ Updated On Mon, Aug 6th, 2018 The award, given by the Foundation for Accelerated Mass Empowerment (FAME), recognizes industries for implementing best occupational health and safety systems, processes and practices. Tata Power’s wholly owned subsidy in Gujarat, Coastal Gujarat Power (CGPL) won ‘Gold’ at the FAME ‘Excellence of Safety’ awards for best safety practices and implementing workplace safety norms for the safety of workers. The award, given by the Foundation for Accelerated Mass Empowerment (FAME), recognizes industries for implementing best occupational health and safety systems, processes and practices. Head, Fire & Safety, CGPL, Pramod Kumar Singh received the award on the behalf of the company at a ceremony held at Dehradun. The award was presented by Urban Development Minister, Uttarakhand, Madan Kaushik, Finance Minister, Uttarakhand, Prakash Pant, Naresh Bansal. Congratulating the team for winning the award, COO & Executive Director, Tata Power, Ashok Sethi said, “Health and safety is not only a high priority area for us but also an integral part of our business. We constantly strive to induce the best occupational health and safety systems at work. This award will certainly boost our efforts in this direction.” CGPL is Tata Power’s facility using supercritical technology in the clean energy segment along the port city of Mundra in the state of Gujarat.
