Tata Power Solar Systems Bags 300 MW Solar Project for NLCIL for Rs 1,755 crore

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd Inks PDA for 13.2 MW Group Captive Solar Plant 

Tata Power’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Tata Power Solar Systems Limited, has received the Letter of Award (LoA) of ₹1,755 crore. This is towards the establishment of a 300 MW Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) based EPC project for NLC India Limited (NLCIL), formerly known as Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited, as part of the CPSU scheme.   Tata Power Solar Systems Limited (TPSSL). NLCIL has been a forerunner amongst the Public Sector Enterprises in the energy sector, with large scale lignite production and significant share in thermal and renewable power generation.

Located at  Barsingar in Bikaner District, Rajasthan, the project is expected to generate over 750 million units and bring down 6 lakh tons of CO₂ annually.

TPSSL will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the project for three years after the commercial operation declaration (COD). The project, won through competitive bidding, will get commissioned within 18 months from the date of receiving of LoA.

TPSSL will handle the complete project execution from designing to commissioning and the evacuation system up to delivery point (220KV side of pooling sub-station).

Tata Power maintains that this win not only reinforces TPSSL’s leadership position in the execution of large solar projects, but also establishes it as a preferred partner for driving the green energy transition in the country.

With this win in its kitty, TPSSL’s cumulative portfolio will reach 11.5GWp. Currently,  the firm’s total order book stands at about Rs 17,000 crore.

Tata Power, which is among India’s largest integrated power firms, together with its subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities, has an installed / managed capacity of 14101 MW.

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) recently received the second and final round of investment of INR 2,000 crore from GreenForest New Energies Bidco Limited (GreenForest).
