Tata Power Solar commissions a 4.8 MW solar power plant for Rajaram Maize Products

Tata Power Solar, an integrated solar company has commissioned a 4.8 MW solar power plant for Rajaram Maize Products (a leading player in the starch and glucose manufacturing segment in India) to meets its entire power requirement through renewable energy.

The solar power plant spread across 22 acres at Rajnandgaon district in Chhattisgarh was set up within three months, using Tata Power Solar’s modules. Tata Power Solar in a statement said that this solar project will help reduce approximately 5,180 tonnes of carbon dioxide (Co2) emissions per annum.

Speaking on the project Ashish Khanna, ED & CEO, Tata Power Solar, said, “It is exciting to see manufacturing companies like Rajaram Maize Products move from conventional power to 100% renewable- energy and shows the shifting trend of companies accepting solar as a mainstream source of power. Focusing on renewable energy Rajaram Maize Products earlier installed a biomass based cogeneration plant, solar rooftop, windmills and biogas engine at its facility. Total power generated from this 4.8 MW ground-mount solar installation will be used for captive consumption by the Rajaram Maize Products factory.
