Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd Inks PDA for 13.2 MW Group Captive Solar Plant The subsidiary firm of Tata Power, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), has entered into a power delivery agreement (PDA) with Neosym Industry Limited (formerly the Indian Smelting and Refining Company Limited- ISR) for a 26 MW AC group captive solar plant. The project, located at Jamkhed, Ahmednagar in Maharashtra, will boast electricity generation capacity of 59 million units every year. The plant will commence operations next year in March. The plant is slated to curb carbon emissions worth 32,500 tonnes per year. “This partnership with Neosym marks a significant milestone in our relentless pursuit of providing clean and sustainable energy solutions to our C&I consumers. The Jamkhed project is a step towards enhancing renewable energy capacity and reducing carbon emissions in the country,” said Ashish Khanna, CEO, TPREL. With this addition to its portfolio, the aggregate renewables capacity of TPREL is pegged at 7,821 MW. This includes 3,689 MW projects under various stages of implementation. The firm’s operational capacity is 4,132 MW, with 3,139 MW capacity of solar and 993 MW of wind. Earlier, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, through its subsidiary TP Alpha Limited (Special Purpose Vehicle –SPV), signed a Power Delivery Agreement (PDA) with Sanyo Special Steel Manufacturing India Pvt. Ltd. for a captive solar plant. It has a capacity of 28.125 MW (AC) (i.e. 39.375 MWp DC). Previously, TPREL also secured a Letter of Award (LoA) for a 966-MWRTC hybrid project, which marked one of the largest industrial Round-The-Clock (RTC) power purchase agreements within the group captive segment in the country.
