Tata Power Renewable Energy commissions a 49MW Solar Power Plant in Tamil Nadu By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Thu, Jan 12th, 2017 A 49MW Solar Power Plant commissioned by Tata Power Renewable energy at Kayathar is ready for operation. Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd has announced the commissioning of 49MW solar power plant at Kayathar, Tamil Nadu. The operating renewable energy capacity of the company, a unit of Tata Power, has reached 1,876 mw, comprising 915MW of solar (841MW of wind and 120MW of waste heat recovery capacity). In FY16, Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd increased its operational capacity by 1169MW, the company said in a statement. The commissioned capacity of 49MW solar power plant at Kayathar, Tamil Nadu is part of Welspun Renewable Energy Private Ltd that was acquired by Tata Power last year. In 2016, TataPower Renewable Energy won 320MW solar bids, which are under development and will be commissioned in 2017.
