TATA Power, recently announced addition of 11,529 new Electric Vehicle (EV) home chargers in the second quarter of FY24. This brings the total count of Tata Power home EV Chargers to 62,000 across India. Tata Power claims that its home EV charging solutions enhance, convenience and accessibility of EV charging for Tata Power EZ Charge’s customer base.

The company claims this be a key milestone to the firm’s s position as one of the leading players in advancing the adoption of electric vehicles in India. Tata Group with its diversified portfolio in automobiles, electricity discom business, renewable sector and others is now harping on the new avenues created with the increased deployment of EVs in the country. 

Highlighting the achievement, Virendra Goyal, head of business development (EV Charging), Tata Power, said, “Surpassing the milestone of 62,000 home chargers underscores our unwavering commitment to accelerating the electric mobility revolution in India. We are resolute in delivering a seamless, accessible and user-friendly charging infrastructure to meet the Charging requirements of EV owners at the convenience of their homes.”

Tata Power EZ Charge has launched public EV charging points at diverse locations such as Offices, RWAs, Hotels, Hospitals, Car dealerships, Malls, and Highways etc. This will construct a reliable and expansive out-of-home charging network nationwide.

In addition to the growth in home chargers, Tata Power EZ Charge also deployed 180 e-bus charging points in the September 2023 quarter. This elevates the total e-bus charging points to a 464. This takes company’s charging presence beyond 700 charging points, nationwide. This underscores the company’s commitment to providing comprehensive solutions for the evolving needs of the electric mobility sector.

Tata Power remains dedicated to innovating and expanding its charging infrastructure to meet the growing demands of the EV market in India.

Earlier this year, Tata Power received the first set of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for 120 MW Energy Project from TATA AutoComp, a conglomerate that provides products and services to the Indian and global automotive OEMs. The BESS is for a capacity of 6 GWh.
