Tata Power Acquires Bikaner-III Neemrana-II Transmission Renewable Energy Project Tata Power Co Ltd has won a bid for the acquisition of the Bikaner-III Neemrana-II Transmission renewable energy project valued at about INR 1,544 crore. The renewable energy project is of a special purpose vehicle (SPV) established by PFC Consulting Limited, an arm of Power Finance Corporation. The transmission project is be undertaken on a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) basis. It is poised to pave the way for the evacuation of 7.7 GW of renewable energy from the Bikaner Complex in Rajasthan. “The project entails the establishment of a 340 kilometers transmission corridor from Bikaner-III pooling station to Neemrana II substation,” read the exchange filing of the firm. These include the Nokhra Solar Project of 300 MW of NTPC, an RVUNL solar park of 810 MW capacity, among others. Earlier during the year, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, an arm of The Tata Power Company Ltd had commissioned a 110 MW solar power project in Bikaner. The project will look into the supply 110 MW of green power to the Kerala State Electricity Board. Rajasthan is responsible for 25% of the total renewable energy capacity in India.
