Tata Communications In 18.75 MWac Deal For Solar With TPREL By Prasanna Singh/ Updated On Wed, Feb 14th, 2024 Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), one of India’s largest integrated power companies and a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited, has signed a power delivery agreement with Tata Communications Limited (Tata Communications), a leading communications technology (commtech) player, for an 18.75 MW AC group captive solar power plant. The project, facilitated through a special purpose vehicle (SPV) — Nivade Windfarm Limited — has acquired an estimated order value of ₹ 105 crore according to TPREL. Located in Aachegaon, Maharashtra, the plant is projected to generate approximately 40 MUs of power while offsetting more than 30,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. The move by Tata Communications reflects the broader efforts within the sector to reduce environmental impact and champion a more sustainable and responsible business ecosystem. In recent months, the Company has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing a capacity of over 1.5 gigawatts (GW) in group captive projects. This accomplishment is attributed to the successful execution of Power Delivery Agreements (PDAs) that span a diverse range of industries, including steel, polystyrene, mining, iron casting, manufacturing, hospitality, automotive, among others.
