Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Opens Solar Energy Laboratory By Aaqib/ Updated On Sat, Feb 24th, 2018 The laboratory is equipped with solar thermal and photovoltaic systems such as solar flat plate collector testing system, solar concentrator training system, solar PV training and research system. Tamil Nadu Agricultural University has opened a solar energy laboratory at the Department of Bio-energy, Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute. The laboratory is equipped with solar thermal and photovoltaic systems such as solar flat plate collector testing system, solar concentrator training system, solar PV training and research system, solar grid tied training system and roof top off-grid SPV power plant. According to the University statement, it will be used for teaching UG and PG students, which will also create awareness about on-grid and off-grid systems for the public to implement the solar energy gadgets. Deputy Director General (Agrl. Engg.), ICAR, New Delhi Dr. K. Alagusundaram inaugurated the lab in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Dr. K. Ramasamy and senior department officials, it said.
