SWREL Wins EPC Contract For 396 MWp Solar Project In Rajasthan

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL), a Maharashtra-based renewable EPC, announced receiving a new order from a private Independent Power Producer (IPP). The company received the Letter of Award (LOA) to supply, install, and commission a 305 MW AC / 396 MWp DC solar plant for a solar project in Rajasthan. SWREL secured this project from one of its repeat customers in India.

The total value of works including taxes is pegged at around Rs. 504 crore. “As the market has seen significant growth in projects from private Independent Power Producers (IPP), we too are seeing a strong pipeline of projects from the private sector and especially from our repeat clients,” the company said in a statement.

Speaking on the order win, Amit Jain, Global Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Group shared, “We have been making strong in-roads in the domestic Private IPP market this year and this new project win reflects our strong positioning and bears testament to our domestic value proposition. Besides the strong order pipeline we are seeing in the private sector there are a large number of bids expected from PSU’s in Q4 which augurs well for achieving our order booking target for the year.”

SWREL Expands Solar Projects Across Rajasthan 

The Mumbai-based solar company has previously secured a domestic order to develop a 400 MW AC / 633 MW DC PV plant. The total value of works including taxes, levies, and duties is approximately ~INR 550+ crore.

SWREL previously also received two domestic orders. One order is for an EPC project for a GWH-scale stationary battery energy storage project in Rajasthan. This project is for a 500 x 2 (1,000 MWhr) standalone BESS plant in the region.
