Suzlon Bags 25.2 MW Wind Project in Karnataka India’s wind energy giant Suzlon Group has announced through a regulatory filing that the company has secured a fresh order from the Aditya Birla Group for the development of a 144.9 Megawatt (MW) wind energy project. Suzlon has not declared the value of the new deal in the filing. Suzlon, a renewable energy solution provider, held that the Aditya Birla Group’s wind power project will be developed in different sites in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. As per Suzlon, the project is expected to be commissioned next year. Suzlon told the National Stock Exchange that it will be installing 69 units of wind turbine generators with a hybrid lattice tubular (HLT) tower. It held that the capacity of each turbine is 2.1 MW. The company claims that 70-80 per cent of the content used in the making of its turbines is domestically sourced. Suzlon also mentioned that a wind energy project of this size can supply the electricity needs of 94,000 households and arrest 3.72 lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide emission every year.
