Sunsure Commences Solar Power Supply To APL Apollo In UP

Sunsure Energy, the C&I focused renewable power producers  has announced the commencement of solar power supply to Apollo Pipes Limited and Apollo Metalex Pvt. Ltd., part of the APL Apollo Group , India’s largest producer of Structural Steel Tubes and Pipes. Sunsure will be supplying 10.5 million units of renewable energy annually to both the companies from Sunsure’s plant in Mahoba, a 7 MW allocation (3.5 MW each to the two firms)  in U.P, that will enable the two companies to meet over 50% of their power requirement with renewable energy.

With a capacity to produce 3.6 million tonnes per annum, APL Apollo Tubes Limited is the largest producer of Structural Steel Tubes and Pipes in India. APL Apollo has set a target of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. They have also signed with Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) with an aim to reduce 25% of scope 1 & 2 emissions per metric ton on steel produced by 2030 and to make renewable energy available to all of their manufacturing plants by 2025.
