Sungrow Surpasses 14-GW Shipments in Indian Solar Market By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Fri, Sep 30th, 2022 Highlights : Sungrow said that it took less than one year to reach 14-GW as the 10-GW record was achieved in November, 2021. The shipment of 14-GW took place in a span of just eight years. Sungrow said that it took less than one year to reach 14-GW as the 10-GW record was achieved in November, 2021. The 4 GW sales since then are a creditable achievement, reflecting the speed of India’s own renewable additions. As of May 2022, the total renewable energy capacity in India stood at 159.95 GW, reporting an increase of about 109.4% compared to 2014, the year when Sungrow entered this market. Over the past eight years, it has shipped over 14GW of inverters cumulatively to India The inverters were applied in many key projects including the 400 MW project in Bhadla Solar Park of Rajasthan, 250 MW Ayana Plant in Andhra Pradesh and 70MW Kayamkulam floating PV. Sungrow said that it was ranked as the Top 1 inverter supplier in 2021 by a domestic research firm with over 30% market share. It claims to have maintained this lead in the first two quarters of 2022. The factory was founded in 2017 and was expanded to 10 GW capacity in March 2022. Sungrow claims that it’s the only company in India which can manufacture all types of inverter equipment and it also creates enormous opportunities for investment attraction and employment. The comprehensive product portfolio has also been on display at the ongoing REI 2022 show Sungrow claims to have achieved more than 269 GW of installations worldwide as of June 2022.
