It emerged as the L-1 bidder for the balance of system (BOS) package comprising four blocks of the proposed solar PV plant of NTPC. Mumbai-based Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd (SWRE) has said that the clean energy company has emerged as a successful bidder for a renewable energy project of Rs 2,100 crore. Sterling & Wilson held that it emerged as the L-1 bidder for the balance of system (BOS) package comprising four blocks of the proposed solar PV plant of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited at Khavda RE Power Park, Rann of Kutch, Gujarat. Each block in the NTPC REL project is of 300 MWac. Sterling & Wilson also said that the total capacity of the renewable energy project is 1500 MWdc. The total bid value has been informed to be Rs 2,100 crore including all taxes. The proposed bid of the firm then announced was 1,12MWac/1568MWdc at the same location. The scope of work includes design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning. It also includes a contract for operation and maintenance (O&M) for three years. The company has operations in 25 countries. It offers EPC services for utility-scale solar, floating solar and hybrid and energy storage solutions. Globally, Sterling & Wilson maintains a portfolio of 12.8 GW and its O&M segment is of 6 GW. In the quarter ending December 2022, Sterling & Wilson reported a net loss of Rs 99.15 crore and a consolidated net loss of Rs 428.78 crore in the year-ago period.
