Statiq To Supply 253 EV Chargers To REIL For Key Highway Projects

Electric vehicle charging service provider Statiq has revealed that the company has recently received an order from Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Ltd. (REIL) for the delivery of 253 rapid electric vehicle (EV) chargers that will be employed on four critical highway projects. These highway projects will be connecting Agra and Lucknow, Meerut and Gontri, Chennai and Bellary, and Mangaldai and Wakro.

The official statement of Statiq held that despite the deal being an outright sale, the company will look after the general caliber and maintenance of the EV charging equipment for three years after installation.

According to reports, REIL called for 210 different fast chargers having a charging capacity of at least 50 kW. It also requested 43 additional fast chargers having a capacity of at least 100 kW for electric four-wheelers.

Aman Rehman, Head of Government Relations and Corporate Affairs, Statiq, said, “Statiq is keen on participating in all initiatives for electrifying India and upgrading its motor choices. The electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) space is going to be playing a critical role in helping the nation make a smooth transition from conventional ICE vehicles to eco-friendly EVs. The transition will become a reality only when there is a strong network of charge points. And, at Statiq, we are keeping an eye on any such project that we can be part of, such as winning this vital tender at REIL, to further this cause.”

REIL has been working with the state and central governments for the deployment of EV charging facilities under FAME India Scheme-II.

Rehman also added that REIL has been very active on the e-mobility front in India and it is an honor for his company to win a tender with such a forward-thinking PSU. Statiq is presently operating EV charging systems in Jaipur, Beawar, Jaisalmer, Udaipur and Jodhpur cities of Rajasthan.

Statiq recently raised more than Rs 200 crores in a Series A financing. The company has partnered with Hero Electric in order to improve the overall EV charging network in northern states. It also collaborated with Hyderabad-based EV start-up Hala Mobility for the same purpose.
