Solar Urja Expo 2016 starts, major players showcases solar products

Solar Urjja Expo starts today at DLF Gurgaon, Haryana and ends on 10^th April, 2016. The expo has been organized by Urja Samiti where major players like Su-Kam, Luminous, Sneda Energy beside others are participating.

The expo is been supported by MNRE , SECI, IREDA and HAREDA . Early this week Haryana Govt. announced to make installation of solar power plants mandatory for housing societies, industries and other specified categories of buildings.

Haryana Principal Secretary, Renewable Energy, Ankur Gupta said notification has been issued in this regard to promote green and clean power and set a high trajectory for solar power generation in the State.

The state government is providing various incentives, including industrial status, exemption from change of land use approval, electricity duty, cess, free-wheeling and banking facility, exemption of T&D and cross-subsidy charges under its Solar Power Policy-2016. Additionally Haryana Govt. has also decided to purchase solar power over and above the solar Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO).

This expo is expected to support and boost Modi Government’s ambitious plan of generating 100GW of solar power by 2022.
