Solar Lights Distributed To 350 Homes of J&K’s Kargil by Schneider Electric India By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Wed, Nov 22nd, 2017 The children and the residents of area will be the major beneficiary of the program. Solar lights to as many as 350 homes has been provided by the Schneider electric India along with non-government organizations in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kargil under the umbrella of their social corporate social responsibility project under the aegis of Schneider Electric India and Spreading Happiness InDiya Foundation (SHIF), which is the CSR arm of Schneider Electric India Foundation (SEIF), the foundations are financially supported by star cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. In a statement Schneider Electric India mentioned that the SEIF & SHIF has jointly distributed Mobiya range of portable solar lights to the homes of Kargil’s Garkone and Darchik by oragnising the drive at primary school of Darchik village and Jamyang School in Leh district, as per their rural electrification project. The children and the residents will be the major beneficiary of the program as it will aid in improving the lighting conditions during late night hours to help them study and let people access safety during transportation at night time. In a statement SEIF Vice President Venkat Garimella said “At Schneider, we believe that access to energy is a basic human right which should be made available to everyone. I am happy that this project would contribute meaningfully in helping remote communities gain access to safe, reliable, efficient and sustainable energy.” The distributed Mobiya range of portable products can lasts up to 48 hours of power with a solar charge of one day. The product has energy efficient capabilities with LED lighting and mobile charging features.
