SmartEnergy and Prodiel form JV for Spanish solar PV By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Thu, May 5th, 2022 Swiss investment company SmartEnergy and Spanish solar developer Grupo Prudiel have joined hands to develop a 4GW pipeline of solar PV projects in Spain. Greenfield PV has swung into action with a team of more than 50 experienced development specialists working on the portfolio of projects. Besides, SmartEnergy acquired a project pipeline exceeding 1GW of solar PV projects from Prodiel, with Greenfield PV providing development services to both portfolios. Spelling out the guiding principles of the company, Grupo Prodiel vice president Miguel Some said, “Greenfield PV is born as a company committed to sustainable development and environmental conservation. We focus on a model of responsible and orderly development of solar PV assets.” Founded in 2011 and located in Wollerau, Switzerland, Smartenergy Invest AG focuses on investments in renewable energy and related ventures. Grupo Prodiel Group on the other hand is organised around three companies in order to provide a comprehensive response within the energy sector, from the initial phase with the development of a photovoltaic project, where they participate through DVP Solar, to the subsequent construction of the project, through Prodiel EPC and, finally, bringing the energy to market through our supply company, Energía Plus. Outlining the roadmap to the energy security in Europe, SmartEnergy chief operating officer Joao Cunha added: “Greenfield PV is a prime example of the work that SmartEnergy is doing by identifying opportunities all over Europe and in this case in Spain, creating synergies throughout the entire value chain.
