Tariff Discovered in SJVN 1.5 GW Tender Exceeds INR 4 per Kwh SJVN, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, SGEL has received a Letter of Award for a solar power project of 100 MW from Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (RUVNL). The project, to be developed in Rajasthan, has been bagged at a tariff of INR 2.62 per unit. To be developed on a B-O-O basis (Build Own and Operate), the project cost is pegged at INR 600 crores through EPC contract. It is slated for commissioning in a period of 18 months from the date of signing of the Power Purchase Agreement between the two firms, SGEL and RUVNL, for 25 years. The project is expected to generate 252 MU in the first year and 5866 MU over a period of 25 years. It will reduce close to 287434 tonnes of carbon emissions. Other than the freshly-won 100 MW project, SJVN is also in the process of developing a 1000 MW Bikaner Solar Project in the state. Earlier, SJVN has also entered into agreements with the Government of Rajasthan for the development of 10 GW renewable energy projects/parks. The firm has projects spread out almost all over the country. In the north-east, it recently received Letter of Awards from Assam Power Development Corporation Limited (APDCL) for three solar power projects of cumulative capacity 320 MW. SGEL had participated in three separate tariff based competitive bidding tenders of APDCL, that is, 50 MW, 70 MW and 200 MW. SJVN boasts a portfolio of 58144 MW.
