SJVN Seeks Developers For 6,000MWh RE Projects With Energy Storage System By Chitrika Grover/ Updated On Mon, Dec 9th, 2024 Highlights : SJVN has set January 24, 2025, as the last date for bid submission. SJVN Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN), a designated Renewable Energy Implementing Agency (REIA), has invited bids to build a renewable energy power project with energy storage system (ESS). The developer for this project must supply 6,000 MWh (1,500 MW x 4 Hours) of assured peak power from renewable energy (RE) power projects integrated with an ESS. SJVN has set January 24, 2025, as the deadline for bid submission. RE Power Project Configuration To supply Assured Peak Power: SJVN’s tender intends to build a renewable energy (RE) power project for the supply of assured peak power. The project would have an interconnection with the ISTS substation at a 220 kV voltage level or above. To build this project, the developer would undertake a possible RE project configuration to supply assured peak power against a 300 MW capacity. This project has a configuration of a 200 MW solar component, a 100 MW wind power component, and a 100 MW energy storage system (ESS) component. The SJVN project would have a minimum contracted capacity of 50 MW, and the maximum quantum of power can be 750 MW. The total cumulative capacity of power to be awarded would be 1,500 MW. However, for projects located in Northeastern states and special category regions, the minimum project capacity that can be offered by a bidder, including its parent, affiliate, ultimate parent, or any group company, can be 30 MW. The project capacity can be quoted in multiples of 10 MW only. The bidders are free to choose the ISTS substations for the interconnection of the project to the grid on a pan-India basis. 5 Reasons Solar Customers Await 2025 With Some Trepidation Also Read Criteria For Assured Peak Power Supply: The developer would be responsible for supplying the contracted capacity of RE power from an ISTS-connected RE power project combined with an energy storage system. The tender requires a minimum availability of 90% during peak hours of the contracted capacity in MW monthly. The peak hours will be four hours daily, i.e., from 00:00 hrs to 08:00 hrs in the morning and from 17:00 hrs to 24:00 hrs in the evening, as per the schedule given by the buying entity/entities. Bidding is expected to be a good pointer for 2025, considering the fall in storage bids seen in 2024.
