SJVN Receives LoI For 200 MW Solar Power Project From GUVNL Satluj Jal Vidut Nigam (SJVN) Limited recently received a Letter of Intent from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for a 200 MW Solar Power Project in GUVNL Phase XXII. SJVN Chief Managing Director (CMD) Geeta Kapur, informed on the social media platform X, “SJVN has received a Letter of Intent from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited for 200 MW Solar Power Project in GUVNL Phase XXII.” She elaborated, “SGEL, a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN has earlier bagged an initial 100 MW Solar Project through bidding & further 100 MW under Greenshoe option at a tariff of Rs 2.63 per unit on Build Own Operate (BOO) basis in e-RA conducted by GUVNL in December 2023.” Geeta Kapur, CMD, SJVN added, “The tentative cost of development of this project is Rs 1100 crores. This project is expected to be developed by SGEL anywhere in India through an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract. The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) shall be executed with GUVNL after adoption of tariff by the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC).” SJVN Issues Tender For 15 MW Floating Solar Plant in Himachal Pradesh Also Read Earlier this year, Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam, (SJVN) Limited recently announced the signing of a contract agreement for the Balance of System (BoS) of a 360 MW Solar Project with Solar World Energy Solutions. This announcement was made by Nand Lal Sharma, former Chief Managing Director (CMD) of SJVN Limited on social media platform X. In the announcement he stated, “SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL) a subsidiary of SJVN Limited, and Solar World Energy Solutions an energy saving company secured the project on Build Own & Operate basis in an open competitive bidding process conducted by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL).” He added, “A Power Purchase Agreement for the project has been signed between SGEL and GUVNL for 25 years.” He elaborated, the agreement was signed in the presence of Akhileshwar Singh, Director (Finance) SJVN, Ajay Singh, CEO, SGEL and senior official of SGEL and Solar World Energy Solutions.
