SJVN Partners With NIWE to Develop Solar, Wind & Hybrid Projects By Bhoomika Singh/ Updated On Tue, Jun 15th, 2021 SJVN Limited has announced signing a Memorandum of Understating (MoU) with the National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE) to develop various Solar, Wind (solar-wind) Hybrid, and (solar-wind pus battery storage) Hybrid Energy projects. Both organizations have signed the MoU for Technical Consultancy Services for the development of these projects of SJVN. NIWE will Support SJVN to assess the feasibility and techno-commercial aspects of Solar, Wind, Hybrid, and Hybrid Energy Projects and preparation of detailed project reports (DPR), estimates, and bid documents covering all relevant aspects from concept to commissioning of these projects of SJVN. Speaking on the occasion, Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director, SJVN stated, “Government of India is targeting to achieve installation of 175 GW of Renewable Energy capacity by the year 2022 and 450 gigawatts of Renewable Energy capacity by 2030, the joint efforts of SJVN and NIWE are going to accelerate the process of achieving this target and providing Round the Clock (RTC) Energy to our nation.” The MoU was signed in a virtual ceremony by the CMD SJVN, Nand Lal Sharma and Director General, NIWE, Dr. K Balaraman, in the presence of Director (Personnel) Geeta Kapur, Director (Civil) S.P Bansal, Director (Finance) A.K Singh, Director (Electrical) Sushil Sharma, while other Senior Officials from SJVN and NIWE were also present. Sharma further added that these efforts will also lead to the achievement of the Shared vision of SJVN, of becoming a 25000 MW Company by 2040. SJVN said in a statement that the power generated from the project will be procured by the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewal Development Agency (UPNEDA) for 25 years at a quoted tariff of Rs 2.68/kWh.
