SJVN Green Energy Issues Land Acquisition Tender In Bikaner

SJVN recently released a tender on behalf of SJVN Green Energy Limited for the outright purchase or lease of up to 2000 acres of land for 28 years near the 765/400/220 kV Bikaner-IV Pooling Station in Rajasthan. This tender was released to set up solar power projects of up to 500 MW.

With the last date for bid submission set as September 3rd, SJVN invited bids from entities that are either citizens of India or registered in India. Additionally, the document specified that joint ventures (JVs) or consortiums are not allowed to participate in the bid.

In the scope of work, SJVN stated that the project requires the purchase and registration of 2000 acres of land on an outright purchase or lease for 28 years near the Bikaner-IV Pooling Station, Rajasthan. Additionally, bidders are expected to provide services for allied works and land development.

The bidder is also expected to construct GI chain link wire fencing along the land boundary and main entry gate. The tender stated, “The bidder is also expected to provide multiple land parcels up to a maximum of 2800 acres, provided that each connected land parcel is either 400 acres or in multiples of 400 acres, up to a maximum of 2000 acres. The aerial distance between the nearest point of the land parcel and the Bikaner-IV Pooling Station shall not exceed the following requirements:

(a) 20 km for a single land parcel having an area of 400 acres
(b) 25 km for a single land parcel having an area of 800 acres or more.”

The tender also mentioned that the bid Security/Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) is set based on the amount of land required. For instance, for 400 acres, the bid security amount is set at Rs. 40,00,000; for 800 acres, the amount is Rs. 80,00,000; for 1200 acres, the amount is Rs. 1,20,00,000; for 1600 acres, it is Rs. 1,60,00,000; and for 2000 acres and above, the bid security is Rs. 2,00,00,000.
