State-owned entity SJVN Ltd arm SJVN Green Energy has won a 200 MW wind power project won through competitive bidding in a tender floated by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). SJVN Green Energy won the full quoted capacity of a 200 MW wind power project at the rate of Rs 3.24 per unit. Apraava Energy bagged 300 MW capacity at the same tariff of Rs 3.24 per unit. The other winners include Dhaani Renewables, which bagged 300 MW capacity at Rs 3.36 per kWh.  The project entails an investment worth Rs 1,400 crore.

Green Prairie Energy, Torrent Power and Avaada Energy are among the other winners of the project, winning 190 MW, 150 MW and 60 MW respectively. Green Prairie Power (Evergreen Energy) had bid the lowest rate of Rs 3.18/kW.

All winners will be responsible for the EPC (engineering procurement construction) of the project, anywhere in India.

The SECI tender was floated to pick out wind power developers for the establishment of of 1,200 MW ISTS (inter-state transmission system) connected wind power projects in India (Phase-XIV). on a Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis through e-RA (reverse auction) conducted recently.  The Power Sell Agreement (PSA) will be carried out after the issuance of the letter of intent) from SECI. The project is slated to generate 578.16 million units. and the cumulative energy generation for 25 years would be close to 14,454 MU.
As per the RFS, the project is to be commissioned in a period of 24 months from the date of signing of PSA.
In another win by SJVN, it had bagged a 200 MW grid connected solar power project in Khavda Solar Park, Gujarat. The project was won through e-reverse auction via competitive bidding. The open competitive tariff bidding was conducted by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). SJVN won the whole capacity of 200 MW it had quoted at the price of RS 2.88 per unit.
In another declaration in April, SECI awarded the contracts for developing a 1200 MW of Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-Connected Solar-Wind Hybrid Project (Tranche-VI) to four bidders for their least bid tariffs. The final developers selected after an e-reverse auction held on April 12 included-Amp Energy Green Private Ltd, ReNew Vikram Shakti Private Limited, Hero Solar Energy Private Limited and ACME Cleantech Solutions Private Limited.
It may be recalled that the MNRE had published a full calendar for the financial year FY23-24, outlining the bidding targets for the four key central implementing agencies. These include SECI, NTPC, NHPC and SJVN.  SECI and NTPC have been allocated with 15 GW each of capacities for bids. Thus, in the coming time, one can expect SECI to float more tenders.
Next up is a 2500 MW ISTS connected wind energy tender, for which the RFS is expected to be announced shortly by SECI.
