SECI Appoints Sivakumar V Vepakomma Its Director (Power System)

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) today announced the appointment of Sivakumar V Vepakomma as its new Director for Power System. Prior to this, Sivakumar served at NTPC Green Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Ltd as Chief General Manager. There he was responsible for engineering, contracts, commercial and business development functions. He has previously served as a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Joint Venture (JV) company of NTPC Green Energy and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) Ltd.

He has more than 30 years of experience in the power sector in areas like project construction, commissioning, operation and management (O&M), energy and efficiency management, maintenance planning, developing solar, wind and hybrid storage solutions.
Sivakumar is an engineering graduate and holds a Master of Science (MSc.) in Energy Systems and Environment from University of Strathclyde, UK. He has completed a Post Graduate (PG) certification program on project management from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore.

SECI is a constituent body of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). It holds an important portfolio in the Indian renewable landscape as it leads in issuing tenders for government supported renewable projects across the country. SECI issues tenders for solar, wind, battery energy storage systems, Green Hydrogen and other clean energy technologies. With the passage of time, the tendering authority has increased its tender issues and also the technologies to adapt to the new demands.

Besides NTPC, SJVN, NHPC and others SECI is an important designated Renewable Energy Implementing Agency of the MNRE. The organisation has also been given annual tendering targets to boost the growth of renewable energy in the country. The announcement of the new director (power system) was done by SECI today from its official social media handles.
