Shuchi Anant Virya Partners with HPCL to Build EV Charging Points By Bhoomika Singh/ Updated On Wed, Mar 17th, 2021 Shuchi Anant Virya, a 50:50 joint venture of a renewable energy solutions provider Fourth Partner Energy and EV fleet operator Lithium Urban Technologies, was set up for electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in March 2020. Today, Suchi Anant Virya has announced its partnership with ONGC owned Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) , to set up a pan-India network of public EV charging points at its retail outlets. Currently, Shuchi Virya owns and operates EV charging hubs in Gurugram and Pune only. The installation of these charging points will be done in a phased manner across the country. The network will include both, fast and slow chargers for all vehicular segments – two-wheelers, three-wheelers, cars, and buses. Furthermore, Shuchi has developed in-house cloud-based technology for easy deployment, operation, and maintenance of these charging units. EESL Report Reinforces the Objectives of India Cooling Action Plan Also Read Speaking of the partnership, Co-founder & Executive Director of Fourth Partner Energy, Saif Dhorajiwala stated, “Via this partnership, Shuchi plans to create a network in the Tier-I cities, to begin with, followed by an expansion to Tier-II cities and national highways. The company is also gearing up to provide charging as a service for buses as well as freight vehicles for last-mile logistics. Our larger goal is to power the EV charging network with 100% renewable energy sources.” Improving the utilization levels is critical for bringing economic viability to the EV charging business. This partnership with Shuchi will further enable HPCL’s efforts towards growing its EV charging infrastructure footprint across the country and improving access to sustainable mobility solutions for both, commercial and passenger vehicle segments. “The EV sector is at an inflection point – addressing gaps in charging infrastructure and ensuring the affordability of electric vehicles will be essential,” said Sanjay Krishnan, Founder of Lithium Urban Technologies.
