Sharika Wins Rs. 155.78 Cr Work Order For NHPC’s Rooftop Solar Project

Sharika Wins Rs. 155.78 Cr Work Order For NHPC's Rooftop Solar Project

NHPC recently awarded Uttar Pradesh-based Sharika Enterprise a 4 MW contract to develop rooftop solar power projects. The company disclosed this in a regulatory filing, stating, “The contract is for the development of rooftop solar power projects with a total capacity of 4 MW on buildings of NHPC.”

Sharika said in a regulatory filing, “The NHPC project is located at various locations (ZONE-1: UT of Jammu & Kashmir Power Stations) under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The total consideration for this project is ₹15,57,81,437.37.” The company further stated, “The project is expected to be completed within nine months for the EPC portion of the contract and five years for the comprehensive O&M period, as mentioned in the contract.”

Sharika Enterprise recently received another work order from the Northern Region to develop a rooftop solar system. The company said, “Sharika Enterprise secured the order to supply and install rooftop solar systems on government buildings in Ladakh and Rajasthan, as well as on POWERGRID’s building in the Northern Region (NR) under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.”

Rooftop Solar Projects on the Rise

Recently, there has been a surge in rooftop solar tenders. All Renewable Energy Implementing Agencies (REIAs) are pushing for more rooftop solar tenders across different locations. These tenders are being issued by NHPC REL for various government buildings allocated across central ministries under the RESCO model. Similarly, SECI is also pushing for rooftop solar tenders, with its latest 1,750 kW Grid-Connected Rooftop Solar PV Projects under the RESCO model.

The Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is also promoting rooftop solar tenders to expand the solar rooftop segment. These projects cover various government departments, including Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; Jal Shakti; Irrigation & Flood Control; Forest, Ecology & Environment; and Home. The projects are being implemented through the Jammu & Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) under the RESCO model.
