Sharad Mahendra to Step Into Joint Managing Director & CEO Role at JSW Energy

JSW Energy Ltd has appointed 57 years old Sharad Mahendra as its Joint Managing Director & CEO.

The statement from the firm read as, “”Mahendra shall be the Joint Managing Director & CEO and a Key Managerial Person of the Company with effect from February 1, 2024. He will take on the role of CEO and MD from February 1, 2024.” He replaces Prashant Jain to join the position.

The firm said further of Sharad Mahendra, “His term was marked by successful project execution to expand capacities as well as acquisition and integration of two assets. The business witnessed a sharp volume growth as well as market share gains under his leadership.”

The new CEO has completed his B. E. in Mechanical Engineering from NIT, Allahabad. He brings to the table 33 years of experience delving in organizational strategy, business growth, execution, sales and marketing, as well as people development across steel, power, chemicals and automobile sectors.

The 15-year stint of Sharad Mahendra with JSW entails his appointment as the CEO of JSW Steel Coated Products Limited. He has also served as the Chief Operating Officer with JSW Energy.
