Joules Power Taps SgurrEnergy India for Engineering Services for 20 MW Solar PV Project in Bangladesh

SgurrEnergy India has expanded its global presence after providing engineering services for a 20 MW solar project in Bangladesh.

SgurrEnergy India (SEI), a global solar engineering consultancy, has provided design, engineering, and project management consulting services for Bangladesh’s largest solar project, a 20 MW solar project installed in the Teknaf region of Cox’ Bazaar district in the Chittagong division of Bangladesh by Joules Power Ltd. (JPL), an Independent Power Producer based in Bangladesh.

The project has been awarded Solar Power Project of the Year – Bangladesh, at the Asian Power Awards 2018 held in Indonesia.

Following an exhaustive selection process, SEI won the project after competing against various international consultants. SEI was selected for being the largest and only purely solar-focused consulting team in the region, with combined multidisciplinary 350 man-years of experience across all the phases of project development, execution, and completion. And to leverage best engineering services, Joules Power appointed SEI as a detailed engineering and project management consultant during design, development, implementation, and commissioning of this project.

SEI’s scope of work included a feasibility study, detailed design and engineering, site construction monitoring, site health and safety management with testing and commissioning support and more.

The 20 MW solar project is the largest in Bangladesh and encompasses 97 acres of land. The project has been commissioned. This project is the first and only project in Bangladesh with multiple split contract structure. SEI has leveraged its detailed engineering expertise and helped Joules Power to promote split contract while working with local contractors and this development has truly led to cost savings and faster deployment of the project.
