SGEL Seeks Land To Build 200 MW Solar Project In Gujarat SJVN

SJVN subsidiary SGEL recently released a tender to set up a 200 MW project in Gujarat with an EPC package that includes land. This tender seeks to develop AC grid-connected solar power projects anywhere in Gujarat. The SGEL tender also includes comprehensive O&M for three years. SGEL has set November 5th, 2024, as the last date for bid submissions. This tender was announced soon after SJVN announced the winner of a 1.2 GW firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) tender result.

Under the scope of work, SGEL mandates the contract to ensure end-to-end delivery of the commissioned plant to SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL). The bidder’s task, as per the tender, is to “acquire and develop land, design, engineering, installation, and operational acceptance of up to 200 MW (AC) grid-interactive solar PV power plant.” The project is being allocated on a turnkey basis along with comprehensive Operation & Maintenance for three years thereafter of the Solar PV Project, including switchyard, EHV/HV, and associated bay at STU/CTU Substation, etc.

The tender seeks the selection of solar PV power projects up to anywhere in Gujarat. The tender sets the minimum capacity to be allocated to the bidder as 50 MW or higher in multiples of 50 MW and maximum allocation to a single bidder as 200 MW. Additionally, the tender mandated the bidders to source solar modules for this project only from the Model and Manufactures included in the latest “Approved List of Models and Manufactures (ALMM)” issued by MNRE.

Under the scope of the contractor, to develop the solar project in Gujarat, the bidder is expected to include the supply of all equipment, materials, and services that, although not specifically mentioned in the bid documents and/or in the contractor’s selection, are necessary for the satisfactory operation of the Solar PV system and its integration with the Power Evacuation System provided by State Electricity Authority(s) (STU).
