Senvion India Launches 3.1M130 Wind Turbine With RLMM Entry By Chitrika Grover/ Updated On Fri, Apr 4th, 2025 Wind Turbine Manufacturer Senvion Adds 121.5 MW Order from O2 Power Senvion India’s 3.1M130 wind turbine has been included in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Revised List of Models and Manufacturers (RLMM) issued in April 2025, the company said. It plans to begin grid-connected commercial installations across the country soon. The Indian firm, owned by Saudi based Alfanar group hopes to wrest a key role in the Indian wind market soon. Technology & Manufacturing The 3.1M130 turbine, based on the 2XM architecture, features a 130-meter rotor and advanced control systems. It is designed for pad-constrained sites with limited installation locations. The model was designed, proto-tested, and certified in India, with over 80% of its components locally manufactured, the company said. “Though 3.1M130 is an upgrade of our 2XM platform, it required a complete design overhaul and testing to ensure it delivers its rated power and annual energy production (AEP),” said Amit Kansal, CEO & MD, Senvion India. “We are confident it will meet the needs of pad-constrained projects in India. The swift launch of 3.1M130 highlights our engineering team’s ability to tackle new challenges in the wind sector.” Senvion India 4 MW Wind Turbine At the Wind Energy Hamburg Trade Fair 2024, Senvion India and RE Technologies unveiled the 4.2M160 wind turbine generator, developed by their in-house R&D teams in India and Germany. The 4.2M160 is the first 4 MW turbine from the RE Technologies-Senvion group. It features a 160-meter rotor, hub heights of up to 140 meters, and a 78.5-meter blade optimized for low-wind conditions. Built on doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) technology, the turbine is designed for harsh environments, including sand, dust, and high temperatures. Its modular 4XM design enables customized configurations for different markets. Suzlon’s Order Book Changes- A Sign Of Things To Come?
